Volvo Buses announces new launches in Colombia
On the long-distance bus side, the launch of the B13R Euro 6 chassis line is being prepared, a revolution in power, reliability, safety and low consumption and emissions, seen a few weeks ago at the Lat.Bus 2022 fair in São Paul. It is a premium chassis in a 4×2 configuration that will make available to transporters a machine with a power never seen before: 510 horsepower.
According to Giuliano Decicino, commercial manager of Volvo Buses Colombia, “it is the most powerful chassis on the market, thanks to our 13-liter engine, which in addition to delivering more torque, has a 10% lower fuel consumption compared to our previous B11R generation.
This platform will be coupled to the already well-known seventh-generation I-Shift automated transmission, and will feature cosmetic improvements to the instrument panel, steering wheel and controls in general, as well as a review of active safety elements.
The electric BZL also arrives in Colombia
As expected, and taking into account the high demand for products powered by electricity in our country, in a few weeks the Volvo BZL electric chassis will be available on Colombian soil.
The widely tested vehicle in countries such as Australia, Mexico and on the European continent will be the workhorse of the “ironmark” brand to recover ground in the urban and mass transportation systems of our country, where the quality, reliability and safety of Their products have been tried and tested for over two decades.
Although the information on whether it will be a fully bodied unit, or a platform for the development of a local assembly has not yet been revealed, what we do know is that the interest of the operators in starting their tests with the BZL, a chassis capable of reaching 400kW of power (depending on the configuration requested by the customer), and achieving a range of close to 260 kilometers thanks to its lithium-ion batteries, which can be located either on the roof or under the platform of passengers.
