Klagenfurt and the surrounding area in Austria will once again be buzzing with electrifying automobiles and show cars that are sure to thrill fans. That’s because the XS CARNIGHT Wörthersee Edition is taking place here until Saturday, May 16. With a mix of vehicle exhibitions and further events for the public, the festival is set to captivate the community once again. Just like in the previous years, Opel is right at the heart of the action, showcasing models and one-off vehicles that are exceptional and powerful in every respect. With the new battery-electric Mokka GSE, the prototype of the upcoming Corsa GSE and the high-performance Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo concept car, Opel is demonstrating what GSE stands for: goosebumps, speed and electric emotions.
The organisers of XS CARNIGHT Wörthersee are expecting around 25,000 visitors over the next few days, who will flock to the various events. It all kicks off today at the Droneberger Studios. Admission is free, just as it is at tomorrow’s exhibition on Klagenfurt’s market square. Just a few minutes after tickets went on sale, the XS CARNIGHT Classic taking place on Friday at Mageregg Castle was sold out. The highlight, featuring all Opel GSE vehicles on site, awaits fans on Saturday at the Klagenfurt Exhibition Centre.
Opel GSE: Electric sports cars and high-performance study with a wow factor
The new Opel Mokka GSE is a sports car for everyday use on the road. With 207 kW (281 hp), the newcomer is just as powerful as its Mokka GSE Rally counterpart. With immediate torque of 345 Newton meters, it accelerates just as uncompromisingly completing the dash from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds – and with a top speed of 200 km/h, it is the fastest all-electric production Opel so far. The sophisticated technology, which was also inspired by the rally car, and the stunning design also strengthen the thrilling GSE experience.
Anyone looking forward to more exhilarating, high-performance electric driving fun needn’t wait much longer. The new Opel Corsa GSE, which is set to join the GSE range later this year, offers a taste of things to come. With 207 kW (281 hp) and 345 Newton metres, the newcomer will offer just as much electric power as the Mokka GSE. At the same time, however, the Corsa GSE will be even more dynamic. With an acceleration of just 5.5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h2, the high-performance Corsa pushes its driver into the GSE performance seat more vehemently than any other current Opel production model. At the XS CARNIGHT Wörthersee, the hot hatch will be on display in its extravagantly designed camouflage livery.
The sensational Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo, which is on display in Klagenfurt, offers a glimpse into the future of the high-performance GSE brand. With a system output of 588 kW (800 hp), 800 Newton metres of torque, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.0 seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h, the unique concept car stands for pure electric performance. It is on display for the first time in its new black-and-grey design, giving it an even more powerful look. At the same time, the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo is the brand’s first phygital concept car and merges the digital and real worlds. Visitors can also experience this for themselves – by getting behind the wheel of the electric racing car in the Gran Turismo 7 racing simulator.
