FIAT has presented its innovative Multiplina concept at the Paris Motor Show, highlighting a new vision for compact electric mobility. Displayed alongside the MULTIPLAY concept, Multiplina demonstrates how intelligent vehicle design can maximize interior space and everyday usability while maintaining an exceptionally small exterior footprint.
Positioned between the FIAT Topolino and a conventional passenger car, Multiplina combines four-seat practicality with fully electric propulsion and compact dimensions. The concept forms part of FIAT’s broader micromobility strategy, which also includes the Topolino and TRIS, and explores new possibilities for sustainable urban transportation.
FIAT Multiplina Draws Inspiration from the Iconic 600 Multipla
The Multiplina concept takes inspiration from the original 1956 FIAT 600 Multipla, a vehicle recognized for its innovative use of interior space. Despite measuring only approximately 3.5 metres in length, the historic model could accommodate six occupants, demonstrating how compact automotive design could deliver exceptional practicality.
Rather than recreating the original vehicle, FIAT has reinterpreted its people-focused philosophy for modern urban mobility. Design references include a forward-positioned windscreen, distinctive two-tone bodywork, a characteristic front moustache and rear air-vent styling, all updated with contemporary design elements.

Four-Seat Electric Concept Measures Just 3.04 Metres
One of the defining characteristics of the FIAT Multiplina is its ultra-compact size. The concept measures 3.04 metres in length, 1.40 metres in width and 1.53 metres in height, yet provides seating for four occupants.
Its fully electric L7 heavy quadricycle architecture allows FIAT to explore a vehicle category between traditional microcars and conventional passenger vehicles. The concept is designed to offer greater passenger capacity and versatility than smaller urban mobility solutions while retaining the compact dimensions and simplicity associated with quadricycles.

Designed for Everyday Urban Transportation
FIAT developed the Multiplina concept around the practical requirements of daily city life. Its four-seat configuration is intended to support activities such as commuting, school runs, shopping and other short-distance journeys.
The vehicle introduces what FIAT describes as a Multi-Purpose Quadricycle, combining compact dimensions with passenger-focused functionality. By offering four seats within a vehicle approximately three metres long, Multiplina explores how urban mobility can become more space-efficient without sacrificing essential everyday usability.
Electric Mobility Meets Resource-Efficient Design
Beyond its fully electric architecture, Multiplina emphasizes the importance of reducing material consumption and improving resource efficiency. Its compact dimensions, lightweight construction philosophy and intelligent interior packaging reflect FIAT’s approach to delivering practical transportation with fewer resources.
The concept demonstrates that sustainable mobility can extend beyond electrification alone. By focusing on simplicity, efficient use of space and reduced material requirements, FIAT aims to explore transportation solutions that respond to the needs of increasingly crowded urban environments.
MULTIPLAY and Multiplina Showcase FIAT’s Mobility Vision
At the Paris Motor Show, FIAT presented Multiplina alongside the MULTIPLAY concept, highlighting two different approaches to future mobility. While MULTIPLAY explores a 3-in-1 interpretation of family transportation through adaptability and versatility, Multiplina focuses on maximizing practicality within an ultra-compact vehicle.
Together, the concepts demonstrate FIAT’s interest in developing mobility solutions for different lifestyles and transportation requirements. The Multiplina concept also builds on the company’s micromobility vision introduced in June, expanding its exploration of compact electric vehicles beyond the Topolino.
FIAT Explores the Future of Compact Electric Vehicles
The FIAT Multiplina represents a modern interpretation of the brand’s longstanding philosophy of creating practical, accessible and intelligently designed vehicles. Inspired by the historic 600 Multipla, the concept combines four-seat functionality, compact proportions and electric mobility in a new urban transportation format.
With its 3.04-metre length and L7 quadricycle architecture, Multiplina highlights the potential for vehicles that occupy less road space while meeting everyday mobility needs. Although presented as a concept rather than a confirmed production model, it offers insight into FIAT’s vision for simpler, smarter and more resource-efficient urban transportation.
